Build your pizzeria website in Rio Rancho
Rio Rancho is a big, spread-out city on the mesa where the delivery apps thin out fast once you leave the main roads. A pizzeria website lets families across the whole city order directly, choose pickup, and pay your own price, with no app taking a cut of the green chile pie they came for.
A city sold on a map
Rio Rancho sits on the mesa northwest of Albuquerque, in Sandoval County. It began in 1961, when the AMREP Corporation bought 55,000 acres and started marketing lots as Rio Rancho Estates to buyers from across the country. The population grew tenfold in the 1970s, the city incorporated in 1981, and today it covers more than 100 square miles. Intel, with its large chip plant here, is the largest employer.
The pizza is unmistakably New Mexican. Green chile is the topping everyone expects, and the local shops are judged on it. Davido’s on Southern Boulevard puts green chile on a New York-style crust, Intel employees have long pointed people to Aldo’s for a slice, and The Hopper fires its pies in a wood oven. Most of the independents sit along Southern Boulevard, Unser and NM 528, surrounded by the national chains.
Where the apps stop
DoorDash and Uber Eats work well in the southern core, around Southern Boulevard and NM 528 and the neighborhoods close to it, like Cabezon and Vista Hills. But Rio Rancho keeps going: north to Northern Meadows and Enchanted Hills, northeast to the Mariposa foothills, and out across the far units of Rio Rancho Estates. Out there, drivers are scarce, runs are long, and customers often find the app has nothing for them.
Sell your chile, keep your regulars
A Rio Rancho customer knows chile. They want to know whether yours is roasted in-house, where it is from and how hot it runs. A delivery app gives you a line of text and a thumbnail. Your own site lets you say all of it, show it on the pie in real photos, and let people choose mild or hot the way they would at the counter.
It also keeps your money with you. Family orders repeat every week, and every one that goes through an app pays a commission, often with higher app prices on top. On your own site, the menu price is the counter price, a parent reorders the usual in seconds, and you keep their contact so you can tell them about a new pie, a Hatch chile season special or a game night at the arena. Keep the apps for discovery if they help, and put your own link on every box so the next order comes straight to you.
