Commission-free online ordering for pizzerias

Direct online ordering lets customers order on your own website, for pickup or delivery, without an app taking 15 to 30% of the ticket. You keep the whole amount, and the customer stays yours: you have their name, their number and their order history.

DoorDash Marketplace rates (Basic 15%, Plus 25%, Premier 30%, pickup 6%) and Uber Eats US rates (Plus 25%, Premium 30%), as published in October 2026. Card fees estimated at 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction. Some cities cap or alter platform fees.

The gap between the top row and the bottom one is close to $19,000 a year for a shop doing 40 delivery orders a week. That’s a driver’s wages. It’s also why the real question isn’t “is it worth it” but “how much of it can I move.”

Delivery is where the money is

In the US the apps charge far less on pickup (DoorDash takes 6%, Uber Eats 7% with matched in-store prices) than on delivery. So the orders worth moving first are the delivery ones. And unlike most restaurants, a lot of pizzerias already run their own drivers. If yours do, every delivery order that comes through your site instead of an app keeps the full 25 or 30% in the register, for a driver you were paying anyway.

How customers find your ordering page

  • Your Google Business Profile, where the “Order online” link can point at your site instead of an app. It converts best and it’s free.
  • A QR code on the pizza box, the receipt and the window. A customer who already ordered once is the cheapest one to win back.
  • Your Instagram and Facebook, with the link in bio going straight to the menu, not the home page.
  • A box topper or door hanger in the delivery bag that says “order direct next time.”

What you need to run it

Nothing extra on the counter: no tablet per app, no printer to pair. Orders arrive on the phone or computer you already use. You confirm each one, push the time back when the kitchen is buried, and pause online ordering in one tap when the oven is slammed. Premium is $19 a month, plus applicable sales tax, with no commission on any order.

Questions owners actually ask

How much do DoorDash and Uber Eats charge a pizzeria?

On their published US plans, DoorDash takes 15%, 25% or 30% on delivery orders and 6% on pickup. Uber Eats takes 20% (15% in some cities), 25% or 30%, and 7% on pickup with matched in-store prices.

Is there really no commission on orders through my own site?

None. Super Pizza charges a flat $19 a month, plus applicable sales tax. If customers pay online, your card processor charges its usual fee; pay at pickup costs nothing.

Can I use my own drivers?

Yes. Delivery from your site is delivered by you, which is how many pizzerias already work. On those orders you keep the 25 to 30% an app would have taken.

Should I leave the delivery apps?

Not on day one. Use them to reach new customers, and move your regulars to your own site with your Google listing, a QR code on the box and the receipt.
