Build your pizzeria website in Mobile
A Mobile pizzeria needs its own site because this city orders around events the apps don’t understand: parade nights, Airbus shift changes, a Saturday on the bay. A page you control shows your real hours and your real zone, and lets your regulars order without a commission on every pie.
A port city with its own calendar
Mobile likes to remind New Orleans that the oldest organized Carnival in the country started here, and the city still runs on that calendar. For weeks in late winter the parades roll through downtown, the streets around Dauphin and Government close, and the busiest pizza nights of the year happen on foot. The rest of the year the rhythm comes from the port, the shipyards and the aerospace plant at Brookley, where Airbus has been assembling jets since 2015.
The pizza map follows the old city outward. Downtown, Pizzeria Delphina bakes Neapolitan-style pies in a hearth oven on Dauphin Street, a few blocks from the brewpubs and bars of the Lower Dauphin district. Midtown, along Old Shell Road and through the oak-lined streets of the historic neighborhoods, family places sit next to regional chains. Further west the commercial strips belong to the national brands, and the independent that wants those customers has to give them a reason to drive.
What the apps can’t say for you
DoorDash and Uber Eats are well established here, and they show your shop as one tile among dozens. They can’t explain that you close early on a parade night and reopen for pickup at nine, that your dough rests overnight, or that the Friday special is only on the counter. Your own site can, and it stays correct when you change your mind.
It also keeps the money. A large pie ordered through an app arrives with a commission taken out of it, and the customer who placed it is a customer you already won. When they order on your site, the ticket comes to you whole and you keep their name for the next promotion.
Shift workers order ahead
A plant shift, a hospital shift at the university medical center, a crew coming off the river: these customers know exactly when they will be hungry and how long they have. A pickup slot on your site, booked from the parking lot or the break room, is the order they want. They get a hot pie at the time they named, and you get a steady stream of tickets that never touched a platform.
Start small, keep it true
Put up your menu with sizes in inches, your Carnival hours, your photos, and a button to order. That is enough to be found by the people who already like your pizza. Over a season, the regulars who used to scroll an app start going straight to you.
