Build your pizzeria website in Miramar
Miramar is a suburb of gated communities and busy families, strung out along one long parkway. A pizzeria website lets your neighbors find you, order ahead and pick up on the way home, at your own prices, instead of paying a delivery app to fight through the gates for you.
A diverse suburb with a New York slice habit
Miramar sits in southwest Broward County, between Hollywood and Pembroke Pines, and it has grown from a small postwar suburb into a city of over 140,000. It is one of the most diverse places in South Florida: about four in ten residents are Black and about four in ten are Hispanic or Latino, with large communities born in Jamaica and Haiti. Families here come from New York, the Caribbean and Latin America, and many of them grew up on a New York-style slice.
That is what the independents sell. Primo’s Pizza & Pasta has been making New York-style pies and homemade marinara on Miramar Parkway since 1999, and Matteli’s does the same further west. Around them, in plaza after plaza, are the national chains. The independents that last do it by being the neighborhood’s place, the one people recommend to the family that just moved into Monarch Lakes or Sunset Lakes.
One parkway, many gates
Miramar is long and narrow, and most of it is built along Miramar Parkway: pizzeria addresses on it run from the 11000s in the east to the 18000s in the west. DoorDash and Uber Eats cover the whole city, but no single kitchen delivers well from end to end. And many neighborhoods here, Riviera Isles and Sunset Lakes among them, are gated. A delivery there means a guard house, a gate code or a call to the customer, and app drivers who do not know the community lose the most time.
Keep the families who already chose you
Family orders are big and they repeat: Friday nights, birthday parties, a crowd for the game. Every one of them that goes through an app pays a commission, and many owners raise app prices to compensate, so the loyal customer ends up paying more than at your counter. On your own site, the menu price is the same everywhere, and you keep the customer’s name and order so you can bring them back with a new pie or a weekday deal.
You can also speak to Miramar the way it speaks. Describe your pies and specials in plain English, add Spanish where it helps, and feature the flavors your customers ask for. A real menu with real photos is a better welcome than an app tile.
Keep the apps for discovery if they bring you new customers. Then put your own ordering link on every box, receipt and Google listing, so the second order comes straight to you.
