Build your pizzeria website in Hollywood
Hollywood, Florida, runs on two calendars: a busy winter of snowbirds and beachgoers, and a long, quieter summer of locals. An independent pizzeria here needs its own website to serve both, with hours and deals that change with the season and every regular ordering direct instead of through a delivery app.
Pizza by the Broadwalk
Hollywood sits between Fort Lauderdale and Miami, with five to six miles of Atlantic beach and a seaside promenade, the Broadwalk, that has been a pizza destination for decades. Little Venice has served pizza and Italian seafood dishes on the Broadwalk since 1987, and a row of other Italian beach spots sits beside it, selling hand-tossed pies and cheese slices to people coming straight off the sand.
Inland, the city is a different place. Downtown around Hollywood Boulevard, the historic streets of Hollywood Lakes along the Intracoastal, the golf-course homes of Emerald Hills and the quieter blocks of Hollywood Hills all have their own neighborhood pizzerias, competing with the chains on every main road. Out west, the Seminole Tribe of Florida, headquartered in Hollywood, runs the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and its guitar-shaped tower.
Bridges, beaches and seasons
The beach is on a barrier island, separated from the mainland by the Intracoastal Waterway. DoorDash, Uber Eats and Slice cover both sides, but the bridges get slow on busy weekends, and a pie crossing them in traffic arrives late. Beach kitchens live off walk-ins and nearby condos; mainland kitchens live off families and neighbors. Your own site lets you say clearly which side you serve.
Then there is the season. Northerners have wintered here since the city’s early days, and when they arrive, condos fill and evenings get busy. In summer the city belongs to locals again. An app listing looks the same all year. Your page doesn’t have to.
Regulars are the whole year
Visitors find you on Google in January and may never come back. Locals order from you in August, when the beach is quiet and the bills are still due. Those regulars are the ones an app charges you a commission on, again and again, even though they already know your name.
On your own site the whole order stays in your kitchen. Show the full menu with sizes in inches, post accurate hours for holidays and storm days, and let people order ahead and pick up when it suits them. A snowbird who loved your pie last winter can find you again in one search, and a neighbor can reorder the usual without a fee.
Link your Google profile to your own page, print the address on the box, and say it at the counter. Keep the apps if they bring you visitors you would never reach otherwise. Just don’t pay them for the people who live down the street.
