Website for an Italian-American restaurant
An Italian-American restaurant that also does pizza has a problem a slice shop doesn’t: two menus, two kinds of night and two kinds of customer on one page. The site works when it makes clear, right away, which one you are tonight.
Pies and chicken parm, one page
Someone searching “pizza near me” and someone searching “Italian restaurant” want different things. The first wants a price and a pickup time. The second wants to see the dining room, the baked ziti and whether you take reservations for eight. Blend them into one list and you lose both. The fix isn’t to hide one: it’s to give each its own block, in the order that pays the rent.
- Two separate menus: pizza on one side, pasta, parms and entrées on the other. Not one scroll of sixty lines.
- Family-style and party trays with their own section and their own prices. Half-tray of baked ziti, full tray of meatballs: that’s the catering order that comes in for every graduation and office party.
- Photos of the room, the red-checked tablecloths if you have them. For a sit-down place they matter as much as the plates.
- Booking for the table, ordering for takeout. Two actions, two buttons.
